SWEETWATER BREWERY TO BRING ITS AWARD-WINNING CRAFT BEERS TO SOUTH FLORIDA THIS MAY

The South’s second largest craft brewer announces distribution in Miami, West Palm, Ft. Lauderdale and the Florida Keys

ATLANTA (April 2013) – SweetWater Brewing Company, the Atlanta-based craft brewery known best for its 420 Extra Pale Ale, is excited to announce their expansion into the South Florida market early this May. Known for their aggressive style of hoppy, unpasteurized, and incredibly fresh ales, SweetWater will be kicking off their arrival into Miami, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and the Florida Keys with their flagship brew – SweetWater 420 – on draft at select bars, pubs and restaurants throughout the area.

SweetWater has been distributing its craft brews in the panhandle and northeast Florida since 2011. Following their recent $19 million brewery expansion in 2012, the company announced plans to expand further into the state, launching distribution into southwest and central Florida late last year. Earlier this quarter, the SweetWater gang continued making moves into the Sunshine State, bringing their ales to thirsty craft beer fans along Florida’s east coast including Daytona, Melbourne and Ft. Pierce. With its upcoming push into South Florida, the brewery will round out distribution so that SweetWater will now be available statewide.

While decisions on distribution partners for the markets are being confirmed, South Florida locals can look forward to spotting the brewery’s iconic rainbow trout tap handles throughout the area in upcoming weeks. Following its launch of 420 on draft, SweetWater will roll out more tasty brews from its award-winning lineup in six-packs at local package, retail and grocery stores including India Pale Ale and Blue, to join 420 Extra Pale Ale.

“With the installation of our new 250-barrel brew house and the addition of a slew of fermentation tanks, we will finally be able to make enough beer so we can deliver our goods throughout the entire state of Florida,” said Freddy Bensch, founder and Big Kahuna of SweetWater Brewing Company. “I’m personally looking forward to getting down there because I know how good the fishing is!”
